Bragging Rights

Hi everyone, I am making a fast post because we are getting ready to go to see our son who is gong to graduate from the United States Marine Corps Officer School He has worked hard to get where he is at and will see the fruit of his labor. His job after this will be a tank commander for four tanks and 15 men. I can't believe that my little boy is going to be in charge of some massive machinery. We are so proud and we pray that he will be safe in wherever he goes!

Here are a few spring things that I just love the look of! I love putting these things together and the look is so springy and primitive! I know the crow is not springy but you always have to have a crow in the mix!! :)

Hi everyone, I am so sorry for not updating this blog in some time. I have been so busy with my classes and just plum didn't have any time. I will be very busy these next few weeks. My son is coming home from college and he is going to have his wisdom teeth taken out. so I get to play mommy for a while! YAY!! :) Then a few days after that, I will be hosting an all day Hook-In. We are having this hook- in at a log cabin not to far away from me in a shop called Sweet Annie's Basketry. She has been cleaning and preparing for this event and I do appreciate all that she has done!! Thanks Marjorie!! This Hook-in will be from 9:00 to 4:00 with a carry in lunch. We will have a rug hooker/shop owner Paula, who will be coming to give us instructions on how to properly bind our rugs!! Thanks Paula!! We will be hooking a HIT N MISS mat. Hit and miss is just grabbing any ole strip and hook it in. Very beginner friendly project!! So for now I will be away but please know I appreciate all of you gals following this blog, it means a lot to me!! sally

OVER DYEING WOOL

While we were having a blizzard outside, I rolled up my sleeves to learn how to over dye wool. Something that I wanted to do ever since I hooked my first coaster! I think that I am Hooked! haha... The one thing that I have learned is that you really cannot may too many mistakes except for if you would want to attain the the same exact color everytime. Her are a few pictures to show you my first attempt!

Wool Applique in the works sort of

This is a start of my next class in February. this is all made of wool and the details will be hand stitched. This is my own design and I am thinking it up as I go. HA. The problem is, I have a cat that loves to wool applique too. By the time I placed all the pieces in it's place without attaching them, my cat, Camie(short for Chamomile) flipped all my wool piece on the floor and astated to bat them around the room. Ugh!! :) Back to square one again!!
